Fill Your Places Fast

GCSE results land on 21 August 2026. Thousands of students will need a place that morning. See exactly how many are near your college — and the feeder schools they're coming from.

Results-day recruitment is a strategy, not a scramble.

Why we're doing this · Free for schools and colleges

Every empty college place on results day is a young person at risk of becoming NEET — not in education, employment or training. Applicaa Post-16 Clearing is free for schools and colleges. We're not looking to profit from results day. We're trying to make sure every student who wants a place gets one.

We don't have mapped yet — leave your details and we'll map your catchment and email it back within 48 hours.

Thanks — we'll map your catchment within 48 hours and email you the result.

    May need a place

We don't have a mapped location for this school yet.

Based on 2025 GCSE results from 2,200+ Applicaa customer schools — aggregate institution-level counts only, no personal student data shown.

    What is Applicaa Post-16 Clearing?

Applicaa Post-16 Clearing is how FE colleges see which students in their catchment are eligible on results day — and message them before they enrol elsewhere.

Post-16 clearing is a strategy, not a scramble. UCAS owns clearing for universities. Applicaa owns it for further education.

    How the matching works

Three inputs. One list of students to contact.

Applicaa Post-16 Clearing works the same way UCAS Clearing Plus does for universities — but for post-16, and with the college in the driver's seat.

    GCSE results data

Aggregate results from 2,200+ Applicaa feeder schools — grades, subjects, average point score.

    Your entry requirements

The grade profile and subject mix your courses actually need — A-levels, BTECs, T Levels.

    Your empty places

The courses and cohorts you still have capacity in on results morning.

A ranked, ready-to-message list of eligible students

Sent from your dashboard the moment results drop. Aggregate data only — no personal student information leaves the platform until they respond.

    The results-day timeline

How results day actually plays out.

Thursday 21 August 2026. The morning belongs to students and families. The afternoon is where clearing happens — and where Applicaa Post-16 Clearing gives your college first-mover advantage on every opted-in student.

    1. 08:00
Results morning — let it happen

Students collect GCSE results at their feeder school. Families process the news. No outreach yet — this is their moment.

    2. ~11:00
Students realise first choice is off the table Timing TBC

Students who didn't hit the grades for their first-choice sixth form or college start looking for alternatives. Some walk in; most start searching from home.

    3. 13:00
      Clearing opens

Students who haven't secured a place opt in to Applicaa Post-16 Clearing. The moment they do, they appear live on your dashboard — with grades, subjects and postcode.

    4. 13:00 onwards
      You filter and message

Query the live list by whatever matters to your college: "A-level Maths students within 7 miles with a 6+ in Maths GCSE." Send personalised SMS and email straight from the dashboard.

    5. Afternoon → next day
      Empty places filled

Track opens, replies and confirmed enrolments live. Students who don't respond in the first pass get a follow-up. Most places filled by end of day; the rest by morning.

Example live query at 13:15 on results day

"Show me every student who opted in to clearing, wants A-level Maths, lives within 7 miles of my postcode, and got at least a grade 6 in GCSE Maths." → Ranked list of eligible students, ready to message in one click.

Places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We may cap the pilot at fewer than 10 colleges if we can't deliver a hands-on results day for every college who applies.

You won't be running results day alone

    Meet Emma.

Emma is Applicaa's AI agent. During the pilot, she works alongside our team to hand-craft your outreach, chase non-responders, and flag high-priority students in real time — for every pilot college, on every results day.

    • Drafts personalised SMS + email in your college's tone of voice
    • Ranks opted-in students by fit for your courses in real time
    • Chases non-responders automatically inside your rules
    • Escalates high-priority conversations to your team as they happen

The pilot is white-glove. Emma is doing the mechanics; a real person from our team is on Slack with you all day.

    Frequently asked

From the 2,200+ schools and colleges that already use Applicaa. We aggregate 2025 GCSE results data from feeder schools across England — students with an Average Point Score of 4 or below who may not have hit their first-choice destination. On the landing page you see institution-level counts only; inside the platform you see the individual students whose schools have a data-sharing agreement with your college.
Yes. Feeder schools receive results under JCQ embargo the day before results morning. Applicaa Post-16 Clearing surfaces those results to you inside the same embargo window that feeder schools already operate under — so you're ready the moment 08:00 hits and students can act. No results are shown to students, parents or third parties before the embargo lifts.
Yes. The landing page shows institution-level aggregate counts only — never personal data. Inside Applicaa Post-16 Clearing, you only ever see students whose schools have a data-sharing agreement with you, on the same legal basis you use today for admissions data.
Nothing during the 2026 pilot. Applicaa Post-16 Clearing is free for all founding-partner colleges — no charge for the platform, and no charge for connecting with students. Existing Applicaa customers are enrolled automatically; the 10 open spots for non-customers are also free for 2026. Founding partners get preferred pricing when the pilot ends.
Most FE clearing processes start the morning of results day, when students have already started phoning around. Applicaa Post-16 Clearing lets you message students the moment they opt in — usually from 13:00 on results day — before your competition has even seen them.
No. If you're already an Applicaa customer, it switches on. If you're a pilot spot, we get you live with a lightweight setup — no changes to your existing MIS or enrolment system needed before Aug 21.
It's genuinely free for the 2026 pilot. We're building this in public with a small cohort so we can prove the model. In exchange we ask for honest feedback and, if it works for you, permission to share your results-day story afterwards. No auto-renewal, no lock-in.
Pilot colleges get founding-partner pricing for 2027 onwards and first refusal on new features. You're not obligated to continue — if the pilot doesn't deliver for you, walk away with no cost.
